The Grass is Greener

This drawing was commissioned for an interdenominational religious magazine. There are four planes of depth, alternating between realism and fantasy. In the foreground are dead grass as well as forget-me-nots and thistles, plants symbolic of heaven. Past a blank white fence is an intenesly-colored suburban streetscape. Beyond that is a fairly realistic landscape of a hillside town (based very strongly on the mining town of Jerome, Arizona) In the back the sky roils into impossibly blue spirals and curls. |
