Conversation (Griffin)

A view from above of a large, lean somewhat bony griffin standing on weathered granite boulders, a girl with glossy black hair, her face obscured, reaching out to it as it turns towards her

"Conversation (Griffin)" is an egg tempera painting on panel. It plays with anatomy, using what I know of lions' skeletomuscular systems and birds' wings to make this work. I was also interested in the psychological connection between the girl and the creature, and the rolling effect of the granite boulders, based on my memories of the coast of New England.
