Mandrake's Folly

A black-and-white scratchboard illustration of a man in a quilted space suit, helmet off, looking askance at another spaceman, grinning, behind them a circular door looking into a chamber full of dining and busy civilians.

"Mandrake's Folly" was commissioned to illustrate a story in the anthology Absolute Visions, a spaceship mystery by Suzanne Palmer.

It's an ink scratchboard drawing, a bit of an homage to the brilliant woodcut illustration of Lynd Ward.
